Amey Ltd in HMP Stocken, Rutland, invites a General Building Engineer to join the on-site facilities team on a long-term contract. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, supporting fire safety, lighting, water systems, and security alarms in a secure environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in general building maintenance or facilities management
• Skills across fire safety, doors, alarms, lighting or water systems
• Basic IT skills (for job logging and systems)
• A practical, proactive approach with strong attention to safety
• Job security – long-term government contract
• Career progression – develop into trade roles (Electrician, Plumber, Carpenter)
• Fully funded training & development – including leadership programmes

Responsabilités

• General building maintenance and minor repairs across site
• Supporting fire safety systems (extinguishers, fire doors, alarms)
• Emergency lighting checks and testing
• Water safety tasks (temperature checks, flushing)
• Assisting with security systems such as CCTV and alarms
• Managing jobs and updates through CAFM systems
