Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking an Electrician Technician for Estates Maintenance to diagnose and repair faults across hospital building services, perform planned maintenance, and support engineering operations across multiple sites.

The role requires current IEE 18th Edition, AM2, and related health and safety qualifications, with a 1 in 5 weeks on-call rota and mileage allowance for travel between sites.

Qualifications

• Approved Apprenticeship or equivalent (NVQ Level 3 / City Guilds / BTEC ONC)
• IEE 18th Edition is required
• AM2 certificate is required
• Health and Safety qualification or certification (e.g. risk assessment) is required
• Experience in electrical maintenance and repair in a demanding environment
• Knowledge of HTM 06.02

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and repairing faults on healthcare building services equipment including boilers, sterilizers, washers, electrical distribution, motors, heating/ventilation, and alarms.
• Carry out planned preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Order engineering spares, materials and equipment.
• Understand and instruct others on the layouts of healthcare building services.
• Travel between hospital sites; mileage allowance payable if using own vehicle.
• Manage new situations and share knowledge with others.
