Job summary

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Electrical Craftsperson to join the Estates Team at Bedford Hospital. You will carry out both preventative and reactive maintenance across a wide range of building services and equipment, and participate in the on‑call rota.

Applicants should live within 30 minutes of the site and have a recognised electrical qualification plus solid maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• A recognised qualification in a relevant electrical discipline.
• Solid experience within maintenance or service industries.

Responsibilities

• Identify, diagnose and repair faults, and carry out general planned maintenance on electrical services, plant and equipment.
• Undertake both reactive and planned maintenance of a more complex nature within the building engineering services relevant to the post holder’s core electrical skill.
• Complete all mandatory training as required.
• Carry out installations, commissioning and testing of new work in core electrical discipline, and support team members when tasks involve other trades.
• Liaise with clinical staff to coordinate equipment and plant shutdowns and to arrange maintenance activities.
