Job summary

First Light is seeking a Crisis Worker to join the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) team in Swindon on a bank contract. You will provide trauma-informed crisis support to victims of rape and sexual assault, working within a forensic, client-centered environment.

Responsibilities include crisis line coverage, advocacy during examinations, and coordination with the SARC team. The role requires travel to related sites in Wiltshire on occasion and attendance at monthly meetings.

Qualifications

• Provide crisis support to individuals who have experienced rape or sexual assault and who may report or not report to the police.
• Attend to clients with sensitivity, ensuring a safe and confidential environment.
• Liaise with on-duty examiner and other team members to support forensic processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis management and emotional support to victims.
• Answer the SARC Crisis Line during on-call shifts.
• Attend SARC and support forensic medical processes as an advocate for the victim.
• Provide information and referrals to onward support services.
• Create and maintain client records on the SARC CMS.
• Ensure client wellbeing during examination and communicate with examiner.
