Job summary

First Light Swindon SARC is seeking a bank Crisis Worker to provide on‑call trauma support for victims of rape and sexual assault. You will work within a forensic environment, assist with examinations, and coordinate safeguarding and onward care under supervision. There may be travel to Wiltshire sites as needed.

You will join a small, dedicated team and participate in monthly meetings and mandatory training as part of a commitment during induction.

Qualifications

• Must be able to provide a DNA sample for process elimination and be police vetted.
• Full clean driving licence, use of a car and business insurance are essential.
• Able to reach Swindon SARC within 90 minutes of call out or Gloucester SARC within 2 hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide on‑call crisis support to victims of rape and sexual assault within a forensic environment.
• Answer the SARC Crisis Line during on‑call shifts.
• Attend the SARC and support through the forensic process, acting as advocate for the victim.
• Create client records on the SARC Client Management System.
• Liaise with the on‑duty Sexual Offence Examiner and assist with DNA/EEK collection.
• Participate in training and complete all required safeguarding referrals.
• Support outreach events and cover the SARC admin team during shortages.
