Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking a motivated Band 4 Assistant Practitioner with a specialist interest in older adult assessment and rehabilitation to join the Older People’s Service at Glasgow Royal Infirmary (GRI). The post holder will work with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Healthcare Support Workers to deliver patient-centered care.

The role involves independent caseload management, clinical interventions, and discharge planning within delegated competencies.

Qualifications

• Experience as Healthcare Support Worker within Physiotherapy and/or Occupational Therapy services.
• HNC / SVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Health & Social Care, Clinical Support, or Occupational Therapy Support.
• SVQ Level 2/3 training or willingness to undertake relevant training and competency development.

Responsibilities

• Support early assessment, rehabilitation and discharge planning for older adults.
• Work under guidance of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists.
• Independently manage a delegated caseload from assessment to discharge.
• Deliver clinical interventions and monitor patient progress.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes.
