Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner to join the Older People’s Service at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, delivering early assessment, rehabilitation and discharge planning for older adults with complex needs.

The role requires experience as a Healthcare Support Worker in PT/OT, and a current UK driving licence is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience as Healthcare Support Worker in Physiotherapy and/or Occupational Therapy.
• Current UK driving licence and willingness to drive.
• Ability to work within delegated treatment plans and agreed competencies.
• Understanding of PT/OT roles in acute services.

Responsibilities

• Support early assessment, rehabilitation and discharge planning for older adults.
• Independently manage delegated caseload from assessment to discharge.
• Deliver clinical interventions and monitor patient progress.
• Make onward referrals to community services.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes.
