SSE plc is seeking a WTG O&M Engineer for the Dogger Bank Operations & Maintenance team, based at the Dogger Bank O&M Base, Port of Tyne. The role covers early commissioning through long-term operations, focusing on turbine performance, maintenance strategy, fault diagnosis, and energy output optimization.

The position involves hands-on offshore support, collaboration with OEMs and contractors, and data-driven decision making to drive fleet reliability.

Qualifications

• HND in Engineering or equivalent with wind turbine experience.
• Experience with refurbishment management of major components.
• Knowledge of machinery safety legislation and safe work practices.
• Proficiency in IT systems and data analysis tools such as Power BI and Python.

Responsabilités

• Lead turbine acceptance, commissioning, and handover activities while ensuring compliance with contractual, corporate, regulatory, and internal standards across the fleet, providing hands-on field support where required.
• Develop, document, and maintain a technical knowledge base to support engineering problem-solving and fault diagnosis, and provide input into service providers for analysis and rectification.
• Design, implement, and execute service quality walkdown check sheets, conducting detailed inspections to verify asset condition, safety, and performance.
• Track and manage engineering defects, working with OEMs and stakeholders to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct onsite monitoring, inspections, and coordination of maintenance activities with contractors and internal/external stakeholders.
