Job summary

SSE plc is recruiting an Assistant Engineering Manager for Offshore HVAC projects in Scotland. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage design reviews, and ensure delivery of HVDC-connected HVAC solutions in a portfolio with strong safety and regulatory requirements.

The role requires a degree in engineering (preferably Electrical) with CEng, and experience in project coordination, leadership, and technical authority processes.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in a relevant discipline.
• Preferably Chartered Engineer (CEng).
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of transmission networks and regulatory obligations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver HVAC engineering scope for large capital projects, identifying risks and mitigating them.
• Coordinate meetings with Contractors and stakeholders; organise design reviews and HAZID/HAZOP/HAZCON.
• Line-manage project engineers and coordinate engineering activities and consultants.
• Communicate project technical requirements clearly and escalate TA approvals where needed.
• Promote safety, CDM procedures and design reviews throughout the portfolio.
• Prepare Design Management Plans and ensure robust technical leadership.
