Job summary

Switchgear Magazine is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support a new offshore wind farm project, providing in-field electrical operation and maintenance engineering services. The role involves assisting Area Managers, technicians and contractors with high- and low-voltage equipment, and ensuring maintenance scopes are executed with rigorous reporting.

Based primarily at NNG Windfarm in Eyemouth, the role may require travel to other UK/Ireland offshore sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum of HNC/HND in Electrical / Electronic engineering or equivalent.
• NEBOSH or IOSH (or Equivalent).
• Experience installing / operating / maintaining / testing on HV switchgear, transformers, cables (XLPE), joints and terminations of all kinds.
• Offshore experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-field Electrical engineering expertise at site level across offshore assets.
• Support Asset Operation teams with Electrical / Electromechanical planned preventive maintenance and fault conditions.
• Review / create work scopes, work instructions and quality plans.
• Manage Asset Change Management process for modifications, retrofits and repairs.
• Review site documentation against single line diagrams, electrical drawings, and test data.
• Identify risks and update risk registers with proper RAG status.
• Ensure compliance with asset management policy and contribute to its development.
