Job summary

Valaris is seeking an Offshore Crane Operator Assistant to supervise Roustabouts and operate crane equipment for lifting on the MODU and vessels. You will inspect lifting gear, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure safety procedures are followed in a demanding offshore environment.

Two years of offshore crane experience are preferred, with BP rigs requiring three years. Certification must be current, and you will work under strict safety and regulatory guidelines within the Valaris

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years as a certified Crane Operator Assistant with prior offshore experience preferred.
• Must meet the training and certification requirements which will vary by unit location according to local requirements and regulations.
• Must have current Crane Operator certification.

Responsibilities

• Directs Roustabouts as necessary to support MODU operations.
• Safely operates crane equipment to hoist materials and equipment onto the MODU and to and from ocean vessels.
• Assists with inspection of all lifting equipment prior to use (slings, cables, straps, shackles, wire ropes), etc.
• Performs preventive maintenance tasks on cranes and equipment.
• Supervises the cleaning and painting of the MODU.
• Remains in continual voice (radio) communication with Roustabouts while operating the crane.
