Job summary

Valaris Limited seeks an offshore Mechanic to lead safety-related activities and maintain critical drilling equipment. You will perform daily condition checks, coordinate with supervisors, and ensure adherence toPermit to Work and isolation protocols.

You will plan preventive maintenance, manage records and certifications, and prioritize SECE tasks while supporting crew in operation and maintenance. The role requires offshore experience and hydraulic troubleshooting expertise.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two (2) years of offshore experience in the position of Mechanic.
  • Experienced and trained on hydraulic systems troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Completion of all mandatory training and certification requirements for Mechanic as described in the training matrix.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a safety leader ensuring hazards are identified and controls implemented, focusing on Permit to Work and Isolation procedures.
  • Performs daily checks on condition of areas and equipment.
  • Informs Mechanical Supervisor or maintenance lead of technical problems affecting safe operation.
  • Plans and executes preventive maintenance with a six-week overview and maintains records.
  • Ensures maintenance is planned, organized, supervised and executed per well programs and contractual obligations.
  • Prioritizes maintenance tasks on safety and environmental critical equipment/systems (SECEs).
  • Maintains understanding of safety case, bow tie, and Performance Standards in relation to maintenance tasks.
  • Uses VAMS to identify barriers and maintains workshop equipment to high safety standards.
  • Keeps spare parts for critical systems and supports crew in operation and maintenance.

Job description

  • Acts as a safety leader ensuring the ongoing identification of hazards and controls to manage theassociated risks with a special focus on Permit to Work and Isolation procedures.

  • Performs daily checks on the condition of areas and equipment (i.e. knuckle boom cranes, mudpumps, draw works, top drive, mud treatment, all drilling related equipment, and systemsunder assigned responsibility).

  • Informs Mechanical Supervisor (as applicable) and/or maintenance lead of any technical problems or limitationsthat might affect the safe operation of the vessel.

  • Plans and executes preventive maintenance with a minimum ofsix-weekoverview to cover current hitch and half of back- to-back hitch; maintains an updated and accurate historical record of all maintenance done as well as all equipment certification documents.

  • Ensures that maintenanceis planned, organized, supervised, and executed in accordance with wellprograms, company requirements, and contractual obligations.

  • Prioritizes maintenance tasks assigned on safety and environmental critical equipment/systems (SECE’s) as defined in (Valaris Asset Management System) VAMS.

  • For rigs with Performance Standards:

  • Prioritizes maintenance tasks assigned with Assurance Activities required by Performance Standards.

  • Maintains an understanding of the relationship between the rigs safety case, identifies Major Accident Hazards, the bow tie assessment, Performance Standard (PS) documents, and PS Assurance Activity tasks in VAMS.

  • Uses the VAMS system to identify equipment identified as Barriers.

  • Maintains workshop equipment and tools to the highest safety standards.

  • Maintains a minimum number of spares onboard for critical/safety/maintenance/operational systems.

  • Supports members of the crew in the operation and maintenance practices ofequipment.

  • Clearly and accuratelycommunicates work status at the end of shift and end of hitch handovers.

Qualifications / Experience
