Job summary

Valaris PLC is seeking a Crane Operator Assistant for offshore operations. You will inspect safety equipment, assist in rig moves, and train Roustabouts in lifting techniques and safety protocols.

In the Crane Operator's absence, you will operate the crane and coordinate with the OIM and boat captain to ensure safe loading and unloading. Candidates must hold a current Crane Operator certification, with offshore experience preferred, and be able to follow lock-out/tag-out procedures and maintain

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year as a certified Crane Operator Assistant; offshore experience preferred.
• Crane Operator certification required; training and certification requirements vary by unit location.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and train personnel to inspect rig safety apparatus and equipment.
• Assist with rig moving procedures and supervision of Roustabouts.
• Operate crane in absence of Crane Operator and coordinate with OIM and boat captain.
• Follow lock-out, tag-out procedures and ensure loads are within gear limits.
• Maintain crane record books and participate in safety meetings.
• Keep work and living areas tidy and comply with Permit to Work system.
