Job summary

Oldmixon Primary School in Weston-super-Mare is seeking an organised office administrator to join our friendly administrative team. You will handle reception duties, provide clerical support, and maintain school records to ensure smooth office operations.

The role is 25 hours per week during term time, with 25 inset hours, Monday to Friday 9.30am-2:30pm. Salary is E4 (£16,115.95) with an interview on 30 September 2026 and start date 14 October 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the reception facility, answer calls and deal with face-to-face enquiries, sign in visitors and ensure visitors are monitored.
  • Provide general clerical and administrative support and maintain school records.
  • Act as a first point of contact for parents, pupils, and visitors, providing a professional and welcoming reception service.
  • Maintain accurate records on school IT systems and single central record (SRC).
  • Support with pupil admissions and statutory census returns.
  • Assist with school communications, newsletters, events, and website updates.
  • Contribute to resource planning and procurement processes.

Job description

At Oldmixon Primary School, we have a new position open for an office administrator to join a friendly administrative team, providing an efficient point of contact within our school office.

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive administrator to provide comprehensive support across our general school administration functions. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our school office.

Hours: 25 hours per week, term-time only to include 25 inset hours, Monday to Friday 9.30am-2:30pm

Key responsibilities:

You'll be responsible for overseeing the reception facility, answering calls and dealing with face-to-face enquiries, signing in visitors and ensuring all visitors are appropriately monitored, as well as providing general clerical and administrative support and maintaining school records.
