Job summary

High Street Primary Academy in Plymouth is seeking an experienced Office Manager to lead the busy school office and provide high-quality administrative, financial and organisational support. You will work closely with the Headteacher and senior leaders to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and a thriving school community.

The role combines office management, administration, finance and people management with responsibility for payroll, data management and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Experience working within a school environment.
  • Experience managing and developing administrative staff.
  • Experience of financial administration and financial systems.
  • Experience of HR systems and procedures.
  • Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • A methodical and accurate approach to work.
  • GCSEs in English and Mathematics.
  • NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration or an equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the school office.
  • Lead, support and develop a small administrative team.
  • Coordinate admissions and pupil data management.

FTE Salary Range: NJC Grade E Pt 15 - 20; £31,015 - £33,673

Actual Salary Range: £28,790 - £31,257

Contract Type: Permanent, part time, term time only + 2 weeks (41 weeks per year)

Contract Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Friday

We are seeking an exceptional Office Manager to lead our busy school office and play a key role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of our school.
