Job summary

Holcim UK is seeking an organised Office Administrator to support the Quarry Manager and site team. The role involves administration, purchasing, compliance and site-wide coordination to ensure smooth daily operations.

You will manage records, purchase orders and supplier queries, while assisting with month-end processes and site documentation. A proactive, detail-oriented approach and strong MS Word/Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an administrative, office or site-support role.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication skills with colleagues, suppliers and contractors.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work independently.
  • Experience in a quarry, manufacturing, construction or other operational environment would be advantageous, but is not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide effective administrative support to the Quarry Manager and site team.
  • Raise and receipt purchase orders.
  • Manage and resolve invoice queries, working with relevant internal teams and suppliers.
  • Purchase goods and services required for the site and process payments by company card.
  • Support the month-end process by monitoring and tracking monthly expenditure against forecasted costs.
  • Maintain PPE stock levels and arrange replenishment when required.
  • Maintain accurate holiday and sickness records for site employees.
  • Manage and coordinate training requirements for site employees.
  • Arrange and monitor Legionella testing requirements.
  • Monitor equipment calibration schedules and arrange calibration when required.
  • Record operative hours and submit monthly overtime information.
  • Monitor diesel usage and arrange replenishment orders.
  • Review, maintain and update site HSEQ records and documentation.
  • Ensure site administration is completed accurately, efficiently and in line with company procedures.

The Opportunity

Our sites play a vital role in supporting the construction industry, and behind every successful operation is a well-organised team ensuring that the day-to-day running of the site is efficient, compliant and well supported.

We are now looking for an Office Administrator to join our team and work closely with the Quarry Manager, supporting the administration and coordination of the quarry office and wider site operation.

This is a varied and hands-on role that will see you taking responsibility for a wide range of administrative, purchasing, compliance and site-support activities.

You will be a key point of contact for the site office, ensuring that essential records, processes and documentation are kept accurate and up to date. You will work closely with the Quarry Manager and site teams, helping to ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the operation.

You will be comfortable managing multiple priorities, working with different teams and taking ownership of important administrative processes. Attention to detail is essential, as is the ability to work confidently with numbers, systems and documentation.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
