Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced School Receptionist for a busy two-form entry primary school in Blackrod. The role starts in October and runs on a long-term basis, with hours Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm.

You will be the first point of contact for visitors, parents, pupils and staff, delivering a professional, efficient reception and admin service to support daily school operations.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a school office is essential.
  • Proficient with Arbor, SIMS and ParentPay.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organised, proactive and able to manage a busy workload.

Responsibilities

  • Welcoming visitors and managing the school's reception.
  • Answering telephone calls and responding to emails professionally.
  • Supporting parents with enquiries and providing excellent customer service.
  • Assisting teaching and support staff with admin tasks.
  • Organising school trips and parent communications.
  • Maintaining pupil records and school databases.
  • Using Arbor, SIMS and ParentPay to support day-to-day administration.
  • Completing general office duties to ensure efficient running of the school.

School Receptionist – Long-Term Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, friendly, and highly organised School Receptionist to join a busy, welcoming two-form entry primary school in Blackrod from October.

As the first point of contact for visitors, parents, pupils, and staff, you will be the face and voice of the school. This is a busy front‑of‑house role within a large primary school, so we are looking for someone who is professional, approachable, and able to provide an exceptional reception and administrative service while supporting the smooth day‑to‑day running of the school office.

Qualifications
  • Have previous experience working within a school office (essential).
  • Be confident using Arbor, SIMS, and ParentPay.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be organised, proactive, and able to manage a busy workload.
  • Remain calm and professional in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Be committed to providing outstanding customer service to pupils, parents, staff, and visitors.
