Job summary

ALS Recruiting Solutions in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Ocean Import Operator to join a forwarder team. Location: Birmingham, West Midlands. Package: From £33,000+ plus 25 days annual leave + bank holidays + bonus.

You will handle ocean import shipments end-to-end, manage key customers, and strive to provide proactive updates and competitive rates while ensuring compliance with customs procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working on Ocean/ Sea Freight Shipments.
• Knowledge of complete operations process from Start to Finish including customs.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Handling Ocean/Sea Import freight shipments from start to finish.
• Looking after key customers, ensuring all bookings are complete from Start to Finish.
• Ensuring customers are assisted and kept up to date of progress at all times.
• Taking on responsibilities to ensure all customers queries are dealt with.
• Securing the best rates, maximising profit on jobs.
• Completion of Customs declarations - import/export.
