Job summary

WR Logistics in Solihull is seeking an Ocean Import Operations Coordinator to own a portfolio of import shipments and ensure efficient, compliant operations from origin to final delivery.

You will liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines, hauliers, customers and other suppliers, manage documentation and customs clearance, and maintain accurate shipment records while delivering regular updates and seeking continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in ocean import operations within freight forwarding or logistics.
• Knowledge of end-to-end import processes, from origin to delivery.
• Strong communication and customer service skills; attention to detail and organisation.

Responsibilities

• Manage ocean import shipments from arrival through final delivery.
• Liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines, hauliers, customers and suppliers.
• Monitor vessel arrivals, transit times and shipment milestones.
• Handle import documentation and ensure accuracy.
• Arrange customs clearance and coordinate deliveries.
• Provide customers with regular shipment updates.
• Resolve operational issues and delays promptly.
• Check and process freight and supplier invoices.
• Update internal systems and maintain accurate shipment records.
• Ensure shipments comply with company procedures and regulations.
