Job summary

City of Wolverhampton Council is seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join the Independent Living Service. You will assess and recommend equipment and housing adaptations to help children and adults live independently in their homes, bridging clinical expertise with practical housing solutions.

Hybrid working is available; you will collaborate with housing, health and social care teams to design person-centred interventions, supporting a diverse caseload and promoting independence

Qualifications

• HCPC registered to practice as an Occupational Therapist.
• Strong commitment to enabling independence and person-centred care.
• Experience or interest in housing adaptations and assistive technology.

Responsibilities

• Assess and recommend equipment, assistive technology, and housing adaptations.
• Influence life-changing adaptation projects (e.g., level access showers, stairlifts).
• Work creatively to solve occupational performance challenges.
• Build partnerships with housing, health and social care colleagues.
