Job summary

Elysium Healthcare is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a 6-9 month fixed-term contract at The Spinney in Atherton, M46. This part-time role (30 hours per week) supports maternity leave coverage within an established mental health service.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team on medium and low security settings, delivering evidence-based group and individual programmes, maintaining records, and developing your practice with supervision and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• A Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
• A UK HCPC registration or applied for
• Evidence of ability to research, plan, implement and evaluate a project for specific groups

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, planning and reviewing OT treatment programmes.
• Under supervision, identifying and actioning referrals both in-house, including support staff, and to external agencies
• Supporting the planning, evaluation, and audit of practices, clinical pathways and protocols at The Spinney
• Ensuring that contemporaneous, written and electronic records and activity data are maintained following professional and services standards.

Job Description

Are you a recently Occupational Therapist looking to embark on a rewarding career, where you are supported in everything you do? If so, join The Spinney in Atherton on aFixed term contract to cover maternity leave for 6-9 months. This post is a part time position for 30 hours per week.

Working alongside a dedicated team you will be working at amedium and low secure services providing specialist treatment programmes for service users who have been detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) and have a history of offending behaviour.

You will be a part of an environment that has a strong emphasis on teamwork and will enjoy hands-on experience, receiving guidance and supervision from experienced healthcare professionals. You will have continuous access to a range of training opportunities to move your career forward.

Under supervision, you will be responsible for planning and facilitating evidence-based group and individual programmes. You will create individual rapports with service users to empower recovery.

Where you will be working

Location:Everest Road, Atherton,Manchester, M46 9NT

You will be working at The Spinney,a service whichoffer a range of care settings for male patients with personality disorder and/or mental illness. The purpose-built medium, low secure and rehabilitation wards, as well asa psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) are all set within an 11 acre site with extensive woodland and landscaped areas.

You will be working alongside amultidisciplinaryteamat The Spinneywhohave previously been recognised by the Association of Psychological Therapies (APT) for their ability to reinforce positive behaviour, prevention of challenging behaviour and successful interventions in a secure care setting.
