Chadwick Lodge Hospital in Milton Keynes is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a part-time fixed-term contract (30 hours/week, 12 months). The role supports service users detained under the Mental Health Act with a history of offending behaviour, providing specialist programmes and hands-on supervision in a team-focused environment.

You will conduct comprehensive OT assessments, plan and review treatment, identify referrals, and contribute to audits and clinical pathways.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• UK HCPC registration or applied for.
• Evidence of ability to research, plan, implement and evaluate a project for specific groups.
• Effective written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Providing comprehensive OT assessments.
• Under supervision, planning and reviewing OT treatment programmes.
• Under supervision, identifying and actioning referrals both in-house and to external agencies.
• Supporting the planning, evaluation, and audit of practices, clinical pathways and protocols at Chadwick Lodge Hospital.

This is a part time fixed term contract position for 30 hours per week for 12 months.Working alongside a dedicated team you will be working at a medium and low secure services providing specialist treatment programmes for service users who have been detained under the Mental Health Act (#####) and have a history of offending behaviour.You will be a part of an environment that has a strong emphasis on teamwork and will enjoy hands-on experience, receiving guidance and supervision from experienced healthcare professionals. You will have continuous access to a range of training opportunities to move your career forward.Under supervision, you will be responsible for planning and facilitating evidence-based group and individual programmes. As an Occupational Therapist you will be:

• Providing comprehensive OT assessments.
• Under supervision, planning and reviewing OT treatment programmes.
• Under supervision, identifying and actioning referrals both in-house, including support staff, and to external agencies.
• Supporting the planning, evaluation, and audit of practices, clinical pathways and protocols at Chadwick Lodge Hospital.
• Ensuring that contemporaneous, written and electronic records and activity data are maintained following professional and services standards.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• A Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• A UK HCPC registration or applied for.
• Evidence of ability to research, plan, implement and evaluate a project for specific groups.
• Effective written/verbal communication skills.

Location: Chadwick Drive (off Saxon Street), Eaglestone, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, MK6 5LS

You will be working at Chadwick Lodge and Eaglestone View, a medium and low secure services providing specialist treatment programmes for service users who have been detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) and have a history of offending behaviour. The service offer a broad spectrum of evidence-based therapeutic interventions, involving service users at every stage. The hospital's consultant‑led multidisciplinary team has a wealth of clinical and research experience in forensic psychiatry. All programmes are designed to reduce the risk of re‑offending and to maximise the potential and enhance the quality of life of each service users. Chadwick Lodge secure services care for service users with complex and enduring mental illness who need to achieve stability in order to benefit from multidisciplinary interventions, helping them move on to community settings whenever possible.
