Aberbeeg Hospital, part of Elysium Healthcare, seeks an experienced Occupational Therapist to join a specialist mental health service for men with emerging or personality disorders. You will deliver OT assessments, support treatment planning under supervision, and collaborate with in-house teams and external services.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive OT assessments.
• Under supervision, plan and review OT treatment programmes.
• Identify and action referrals both in-house and to external agencies.
• Support planning, evaluation and audit of practices, clinical pathways and protocols.
• Maintain contemporaneous records and activity data in line with standards.

Under supervision, you will be responsible for planning and facilitating evidence-based group and individual programmes. You will create individual rapports with service users to empower recovery.

As an Occupational Therapist you will be:

• Providing comprehensive OT assessments.
• Under supervision, planning and reviewing OT treatment programmes.
• Under supervision, identifying and actioning referrals both in-house, including support staff, and to external agencies
• Supporting the planning, evaluation, and audit of practices, clinical pathways and protocols at Aberbeeg Hospital.
• Ensuring that contemporaneous, written and electronic records and activity data are maintained following professional and services standards.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

• A Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
• A UK HCPC registration or applied for
• Evidence of ability to research, plan, implement and evaluate a project for specific groups
• Effective written/verbal communication skills

Aberbeeg Hospital is Nestled in 11.5 acres of the stunning Welsh countryside in Caerphilly and provides a safe and supportive environment for men requiring low and medium secure mental health services. Our dedicated Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) places least restrictive practice at the heart of every personalised care plan.

Aberbeeg uses a twelve-week therapeutic planning model alongside the “Safewards” model of care. This means that service users have a therapeutic timetable devised collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team using meaningful and smart goals for a twelve-week period. Following this, the timetable is reviewed and changed to reflect the development and achievements made.
