Job summary

Thornford Park Hospital in Thatcham, Berkshire is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join a dedicated team providing care for women with emerging personality disorders. You will conduct comprehensive OT assessments, plan and deliver treatment programmes under supervision, and collaborate with in-house teams and external agencies.

You will also support service evaluation, governance, and data recording while benefiting from ongoing supervision and access to training opportunities to advance

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in Occupational Therapy required
• UK HCPC registration (or applying)
• Evidence of ability to plan and evaluate a project for specific groups
• Effective written and verbal communication skills

Under supervision, you will be responsible for planning and facilitating evidence‑based group and individual programmes. You will create individual rapports with service users to empower recovery.

As an Occupational Therapist you will be:

• Providing comprehensive OT assessments.
• Under supervision, planning and reviewing OT treatment programmes.
• Under supervision, identifying and actioning referrals both in-house, including support staff, and to external agencies
• Supporting the planning, evaluation, and audit of practices, clinical pathways and protocols at Thornford park.
• Ensuring that contemporaneous, written and electronic records and activity data are maintained following professional and services standards.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• A Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
• A UK HCPC registration or applied for
• Evidence of ability to research, plan, implement and evaluate a project for specific groups
• Effective written/verbal communication skills

Where you will be working:

Location: Thornford Park, Crookham Hill,Thatcham, Berkshire, RG19 8ET

You will work at Thornford Park which is a combination of medium secure and low secure units and rehabilitation flats. The service provides a seamless internal care pathway supporting and empowering patients in their recovery and rehabilitation.

You will work alongside the multidisciplinary to provide personalised assessment and treatment programmes for males with mental illness/ complex care needs as well as those with personality disorder. Service users may have histories of offending and/or may have failed in previous placements.
