Responsibilities
  • Support the Occupational Health department to deliver high quality, comprehensive and pro active Occupational Health services.
  • Primarily be involved in vaccinations, venepuncture, pre employment health assessment, liaising with staff and managers as required.
  • Assist the Occupational Health (OH) Senior Clinic Nurse in the day to day management and provision of OH services to the Trust's and any additional customers.
  • Manage and prioritise own workload in the day to day delivery of OH services.
  • Work as an effective team member, demonstrate good personal communication skills and actively promote excellent team and interdisciplinary relationships.
  • Follow the Trust Medicines policy and departmental policies including Patient Group Directive's (PGD's) / Written Instructions on the safe storage, administration and disposal of immunisation/medication.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (Pt 1/12), Significant post qualification experience including in acute hospital settings
  • Demonstrates sound understanding of personal and professional accountability
  • Ability to work to challenging timescales and produce effective results
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances
  • Demonstrates excellent team working
  • Demonstrates a desire to explore new ways of delivering services
Desirable Criteria
  • Occupational Health experience
  • Excellent oral, written and inter personal communication skills
  • Ability to facilitate and support learning in practice
  • Good IT Skills including use of Microsoft office and outlook e‑mail.
  • Experience of delivering teaching sessions and presentations.
  • Demonstrates ability to place client at centre of care.
  • Competent venepuncture skills
  • Competent vaccination / injection skills e.g. intramuscular injections
  • Knowledge of immunisation programmes
  • Knowledge of health promotion programmes
  • Demonstrates ability to think laterally, creatively and innovatively to enhance client care
