Job summary

ABEL Occupational Health Resolutions is seeking an adaptable Occupational Health Advisor to operate from the main office and travel to client sites across the region. A hybrid work model supports administrative tasks and report writing.

The role includes late-evening/night shifts at times, with clinical governance provided by the Clinical Lead/OH Practitioner. You will deliver screenings, vaccines, phlebotomy and health surveillance while maintaining strong client relations.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with valid registration.
• OH qualification (Degree/Diploma) or verifiable health surveillance competency as RN.
• Experience in phlebotomy, vaccinations and drug & alcohol screening.
• Willingness to travel to client sites from main office and work variable shifts.
• Excellent communication and autonomous working style.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Screenings: conduct workplace drug and alcohol testing, vaccinations, and phlebotomy.
• Health Surveillance: deliver and monitor health surveillance programs per legislation.
• Case & Absence Management: advise on sickness absence, rehabilitation, phased return-to-work.
• Pre-Employment Assessments: screen fitness for work and recommend adjustments.
• Report Writing: produce clear clinical reports for HR/management with hybrid work-from-home.

Are you an adaptable Registered Nurse looking for a diverse and rewarding field-based role in Occupational Health?

We are seeking a proactive Occupational Health Advisor to join our dynamic team. Operating from our main office base, you will travel to a variety of client sites to deliver vital clinical services, with the added benefit of a hybrid working model for your administrative and report-writing duties.

This role offers excellent variety, with variable hours tailored to business demands including occasional late evening and night shifts to support our clients' round-the-clock operations. Clinical governance and guidance will be provided directly by our Clinical Lead / OH Practitioner.

Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Screenings: Conduct workplace drug and alcohol testing, manage vaccination clinics, and perform phlebotomy.
• Health Surveillance: Deliver and monitor robust health surveillance programmes in compliance with current legislation.
• Case & Absence Management: Oversee a diverse caseload, advising management on sickness absence, rehabilitation, and phased return-to-work plans.
• Pre-Employment Assessments: Conduct screenings to determine fitness for work and recommend workplace adjustments.
• Report Writing: Compile clear, clinically sound reports for HR and management using our hybrid work-from-home flexibility.

Requirements

• Professional Registration: Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid, active registration.
• OH Specialism: Holds a formal Occupational Health qualification (Degree/Diploma) OR is an RN qualified to an appropriate, verifiable level in specific health surveillance competencies.
• Clinical Competency: Proven experience or up-to-date competency in phlebotomy, vaccinations, and drug & alcohol screening.
• Flexibility & Travel: Full driving licence with a willingness to travel to client sites from our main office. Flexibility to work variable shifts (including occasional lates/nights).
• Skills: Strong communication and case management skills, with the ability to work autonomously.
