Job summary

Defence Primary Healthcare at Baden Powell House, Catterick Garrison, is offering a part-time GP post in the Reserves Medical team. The role provides occupational healthcare to Reserve Forces personnel, assessing health, fitness and occupational requirements to return to work or stay deployable.

The post is 27 hours per week with flexible working requests considered; GMC registration and a current licence to practise are required, and visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• GMC registration on the GP Register is required.
• Current licence to practise is required.
• Membership registration number to be provided with application.
• Core GP skills applied in an occupational setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational healthcare to Reserve Forces and other eligible personnel.
• Assess health, fitness and occupational requirements for return to work or deployment.
• Give timely military medical advice to the Chain of Command.
• Refer routine administrative matters to nominated officers.
• Ensure compliance with Medical Instructions and policy letters.
• Provide medical care compatible with GMC Duties of a Doctor.
• Address medical requirements arising from unit roles and safety legislation.
• Support Primary Medical Care services regionally when agreed.
