Qualifications

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highlymotivated Nursing Associate to join our supportive, professional team withinthe Inpatient Unit at Bolton Hospice.This will be a challenging and rewarding opportunity for anyone wishingto further develop their nursing skills and knowledge within specialistpalliative care. Team Bolton Hospice is friendly, motivated and committed toproviding high quality, expert specialist palliative and end of life care tothe people of Bolton.

(Dependent upon experience, unsocialhours enhancements paid in addition)

23 hours - 37.5 hours per week - FlexibleDependent upon Applicants

Therole covers a 24 hour, 7 day service and will therefore include weekends androtation to night duty.

Long day shifts and night shifts would be expected.

Main duties of the job

Working as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team, you willsupport patients with complex clinical needs and provide hands-on,person-centred care. Our staff strive toprovide the highest quality of service for our patients and their families andcarers, through a collaborative team approach.

You must be a Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register with aFoundation Degree. We are looking for someone compassionate and caring, who hasa passion for specialist palliative and end of life care. You will have accessto a range of training and development opportunities and be welcomed as avalued member of an experienced and supportive team.

Job responsibilities

Towork with the multi-disciplinary team and registered nursing staff tocontribute to the ongoing assessment of patients, providing and monitoring carein line with the service pathways and as agreed with supervisor.

Tomonitor the condition and health needs of patients within the hospice inpartnership with the wider multi-disciplinary team.

To use breadth of knowledge to provide holistic andperson centred care and support for hospice patients, bridging the gap betweenClinical Support Nurses and Staff Nurses by working independently under theleadership of the registered nursing staff and working within all aspects ofthe nursing process.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register with Foundation Degree.
  • GCSE Maths and English, Grade C or above (or equivalent) or Functional Skills Level 2 Maths and English.
Experience
  • Experience of working under appropriate supervision as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience of providing and receiving complex sensitive information.
  • Experience in the specialty.

£26,530 to £29,114 a yeardependent upon experience. Pro rata for part time.
