Job summary

Zero2Five is looking for an experienced Room Leader in London (E3) to lead a room and its team, ensuring high standards of care, learning and development for children aged 0–5. You will mentor junior staff, implement EYFS activities, and build strong relationships with families.

You will act as Key Person, oversee daily routines, and support safeguarding and risk assessments while driving staff training and progression within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Early Years qualification – full and relevant.
• Experience working with children aged 0–5.
• Experience in Baby Unit, 0–2, is required.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS Statutory Framework.
• Experience leading, mentoring or supporting other practitioners.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
• Paediatric First Aid certificate.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for providing outstanding early years experiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and support your room team on a daily basis.
• Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive activities in line with the EYFS.
• Manage the daily routine, ensuring a calm, safe and well-organised room.
• Mentor and support junior practitioners and apprentices.
• Act as Key Person and build strong relationships with children and families.
• Complete observations, assessments and children's next steps using Famly.
• Support 2-year progress checks and transition reports.
• Identify and support children with additional needs alongside the SENCO.

The Role

As Room Leader, you’ll take ownership of your room, leading your team and ensuring children receive the highest standard of care, learning and development.

You will:

What We're Looking For

• Level 3 Early Years qualification – full and relevant
• Experience working with children aged 0–5
• For the Baby Unit, experience with children aged 0–2 is required
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS Statutory Framework
• Experience leading, mentoring or supporting other practitioners
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
