Job summary

St George’s Nursery Sherwood is seeking a warm, reliable Nursery Lunchtime Cover Practitioner to join our team. This role focuses on supporting children during lunchtime, helping with meals, routines, and transitions in a busy nursery setting.

You will work closely with the wider team to ensure high standards of care, learning and safety, building positive relationships with children, families and colleagues. Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification and safeguarding knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification required.
• Knowledge of EYFS and safeguarding essential.
• Experience in nursery or childcare desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support children through lunchtime period.
• Assist with meals, routines and transitions.
• Create a calm, safe, nurturing environment.
• Support children’s personal care while promoting independence.
• Work with the nursery team to maintain high standards of care, learning and safety.
• Build relationships with children, families and colleagues.

Your Role
As a Nursery Lunchtime Cover Practitioner, you will:

• Support children throughout the lunchtime period.

• Help with meals, routines, and transitions.

• Create a calm, safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.

• Support children’s personal care needs while promoting independence.

• Work closely with the wider nursery team to ensure the highest standards of care, learning, and safety.

• Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.

What We’re Looking For

• Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification

• Have knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding

• Are passionate about helping children thrive

• Are caring, positive, and enthusiastic

• Enjoy working as part of a team

• Have nursery or childcare experience
