Job summary

St George’s Nursery Sherwood in Leicester is seeking a warm, reliable Nursery Lunchtime Cover Practitioner to support children during the busy lunchtime period. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with children and wants to be part of a supportive nursery environment.

You will work closely with the wider team to ensure high standards of care, learning and safety, build strong relationships with families, and help with meals, routines and transitions.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (EYFS).
• Knowledge of EYFS and safeguarding.
• Experience in nursery or childcare settings.
• Ability to work as part of a supportive team.
• Caring, positive and enthusiastic approach.

Responsibilities

• Support children during lunchtime periods.
• Assist with meals, routines and transitions.
• Create a calm, safe, nurturing and engaging environment.
• Support children's personal care needs while promoting independence.
• Collaborate with the nursery team to maintain high standards of care, learning and safety.
• Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.

Your Role

As a Nursery Lunchtime Cover Practitioner, you will:

• Support children throughout the lunchtime period.
• Help with meals, routines, and transitions.
• Create a calm, safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.
• Support children’s personal care needs while promoting independence.
• Work closely with the wider nursery team to ensure the highest standards of care, learning, and safety.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.

What We’re Looking For

• Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification
• Have knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding
