Job summary

GSL Education in Wigan is seeking a dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join our team. This role offers either full-time or part-time temporary opportunities with a around 40 hours per week across 7:30 AM–6:00 PM and a salary of £14.25–£16.83 per hour depending on experience.

You will create a safe, nurturing environment where young children can learn, play, and thrive, acting as Key Person and planning EYFS-aligned activities while maintaining strong safeguarding and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Level 2+ NVQ/Diploma in Early Years or Childcare.
• Experience working in an early years setting with ages 0-5.
• Sound understanding of EYFS framework and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Act as a Key Person for a group of children, tracking development.
• Plan and lead activities aligned with EYFS curriculum.
• Foster strong partnerships with parents and carers through daily communication.
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding, hygiene and well-being.

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate, dedicated, and energetic Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join our Nursery team in Wigan Nurseries. In this role, you will help create a safe, dynamic, and nurturing environment where young children can learn, play, and thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a Key Person for a group of children, tracking their individual development and milestones.

• Plan and lead creative, engaging activities aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.

• Foster strong, positive partnerships with parents and carers through clear daily communication.

• Ensure high standards of child safety, safeguarding, hygiene, and emotional well-being at all times.

What We Are Looking For

• Qualifications: Full and relevant Level 2+ NVQ/Diploma in Early Years or Childcare equivalent.

• Experience: Experience working in an early years setting with ages 0-5.

• Knowledge: Sound understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures.
