Job summary

WMC Training in Telford is seeking a dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join a professional, rewarding, and supportive setting. You will work with children aged 0-5, supporting staff to deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage and plan enriching activities.

A LV2 Early Years qualification is the minimum, with opportunities to progress to LV3 and LV5 through ongoing training. You will collaborate with the team, observe and record progress, and build strong relationships with parents.

Qualifications

• Must have prior nursery experience or experience working around children.
• Willing to progress with LV3 - Early Years Educator and/or LV5 Lead Practitioner qualification.
• Ability to write clear objective observation.
• Commitment to complete a childcare qualification.

Responsibilities

• Support educators to deliver the curriculum and standards of practice.
• Work towards an early years qualification with support from staff and training provider.
• Seek support from team to assist learning.
• Work closely with children aged 0-5 years, caring for their daily needs.
• Deliver and meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
• Plan and provide age-appropriate play in line with curriculum and individual needs.
• Ensure safeguarding and welfare of all children in care.
• Observe, assess and record children’s progress.
• Provide an enabling environment meeting each child’s needs.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with parents/carers.
• Adhere to setting policies and procedures.
• Attend regular team meetings.
• Maintain health, hygiene and cleanliness at all times.
• Attend additional training events as identified.

The ideal candidate will bring previous experience working with children ,a genuine interest in developing the talent of younger generations, and a strong desire to make a difference in children's lives.

MUST hold a LV2 Early Years qualification as a minimum gained working at the nursery setting before or around children. You will be a collaborative team member, equally capable of taking initiative, and adept at planning enriching activities.

DUTIES

• To support fellow educators/practitioners to deliver the setting’s curriculum and standard of practice.
• To work towards an early years qualification with support from the setting’s staff and training provider.
• To seek support from members of the team to assist your learning.
• To work closely with children aged 0-5 years old, looking after their daily needs such as feeding, nappy changing and toileting.
• To work as part of a team to deliver and meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage for all children.
• To plan, provide and support age-appropriate play opportunities in line with the curriculum and individual needs of the children in your care.
• To ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all children in your care.
• To observe, assess and record children’s learning and development progress.
• Provide an enabling environment that meets the needs of each unique individual child.
• To build and maintain positive relationships with parents/carers.
• To adhere to and follow the setting’s policies and procedures.
• To attend regular team meetings.
• To ensure standards of health and safety, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times.
• To attend additional training events and meetings as identified by the Setting Manager for training requirements.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Must have prior nursery experience or experience working around children
