Job summary

WMC Training is seeking a dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join their team in Darwen (BB3). You will work with children aged 0-5, supporting practitioners to deliver the EYFS curriculum, and aim to progress your LV2/ LV3 Early Years qualifications with support from the setting.

This role requires prior nursery experience and a collaborative approach. You will be expected to attend team meetings, maintain high standards of care, and contribute to a nurturing learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Commitment to completing a childcare qualification and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Support educators to deliver the curriculum and daily routines.
  • Plan and provide age-appropriate activities aligned with EYFS.
  • Observe, assess and record children's learning and development progress.
  • Ensure safeguarding and welfare of all children in your care.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety and hygiene in the setting.
  • Build positive relationships with parents/carers and work as part of the team.

Do you have a genuine passion for leading and nurturing young learners, coupled with proven experience working within a nursery setting?

Have you completed your LV2 OR LV3 Early Years Apprenticeship but striving to further your career?

WMC Training is seeking a dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join the professional, rewarding, and supportive team at Darwen (BB3).

The ideal candidate will bring previous experience working with children, a genuine interest in developing the talent of younger generations, and a strong desire to make a difference in children’s lives.

MUST have experience working at the nursery setting before . You will be a collaborative team member, equally capable of taking initiative, and adept at planning enriching activities.

DUTIES
  1. To support fellow educators/practitioners to deliver the setting’s curriculum and standard of practice.
  2. To work towards an early years qualification with support from the setting’s staff and training provider.
  3. To seek support from members of the team to assist your learning.
  4. To work closely with children aged 0-5 years old, looking after their daily needs such as feeding, nappy changing and toileting.
  5. To work as part of a team to deliver and meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage for all children.
  6. To plan, provide and support age-appropriate play opportunities in line with the curriculum and individual needs of the children in your care.
  7. To ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all children in your care.
  8. To observe, assess and record children’s learning and development progress.
  9. Provide an enabling environment that meets the needs of each unique individual child.
  10. To build and maintain positive relationships with parents/carers.
  11. To adhere to and follow the setting’s policies and procedures.
  12. To attend regular team meetings.
  13. To ensure standards of health and safety, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times.
  14. To attend additional training events and meetings as identified by the Setting Manager for training requirements.
  15. To liaise and work in partnership with external agencies (both statutory and voluntary) to support children within the setting as appropriate.
  16. To undertake any other duties as deemed necessary by the Setting Manager.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have prior nursery experience
  • Willing to learn a qualification
  • Ability to write clear objective observation
  • Commitment to complete a childcare qualification
