Job summary

Randstad UK is seeking a Flexible Nursery Assistant / Early Years Supply Practitioner to support a variety of welcoming early years settings across Chatham and surrounding areas.

You may be qualified with CACHE/NVQ Level 2 or 3 or bring a genuine love for childcare. Hours are 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with flexible shifts; role is temporary / day-to-day supply. A dedicated consultant will support your placements and professional development.

Qualifications

• Qualified candidates: CACHE / NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Childcare / Early Years Education (or equivalent).
• Unqualified candidates: A genuine passion for working with young children, a proactive attitude, and some transferable experience in childcare/early years settings.
• Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).

Responsibilities

• Supervise, interact, and engage with children aged 0-5 years in a warm, stimulating environment.
• Assist permanent nursery staff with daily routines, including meal/snack times, outdoor play, and nap schedules.
• Set up creative learning activities and maintain a safe, clean, and tidy play area to encourage exploration.
• Adhere strictly to safeguarding procedures and health and safety policies at all times to ensure children's well-being.
• Promote positive behaviour and support children's social and emotional development throughout the day.
