Job summary

NurseriesAndSchools.org is partnering with a growing bilingual French nursery in London to hire a Nursery Practitioner on a full-time permanent basis. Location: Hammersmith, W6.

You will create an environment where children's individual needs are met, support the management team to provide high-quality childcare, and act as a role model following EYFS guidelines. Hours are 40 per week, with a competitive salary of £27,000 to £30,000 per annum.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 and above in Early Years.
• Experience in a nursery setting.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow and implement EYFS in daily practice.
• Engage with room development plans and Ofsted requirements.
• Act as a key-person, observing, planning and recording development.
• Support the Room Leader and contribute to nursery initiatives.
• Respond to parent queries professionally.
• Adhere to safeguarding and audits standards.
• Ensure high-quality childcare and meet individual children's needs.

Nursery Practitioner is responsible for creating an environment in which children's individual needs are met and for supporting the management team in ensuring that high quality childcare is provided to all.

You will be joining a lovely nursery with 'Good' Ofsted rating on a full time permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities As a Nursery Practitioner

• Act as a role model for the Early Years, following and implementing the EYFS at all times.
• Understand and engage with the room development plan and any requirements outlined by Ofsted.
• To fulfil the role of a key-person and work in partnership with parents/carers, catering for all children’s individual needs; observing, planning and evaluating development activities; keeping accurate records and maintaining regular contact and communication with parents.
• As a Nursery Nurse you would support the Room Leader to ensure that all nursery initiatives are fully embedded into the room; take on responsibility, or shared responsibility, for an Early Years initiative or additional project in the nursery.
• Respond to parent queries or requests in a polite and professional manner, seeking help or signposting parents to the correct person within the nursery as appropriate.
• Adhere to, and role model best practice safeguarding requirements.
• Understand the standards required of room audits and work to achieve these standards in everyday practice

Person Specification For The Ideal Nursery Practitioner

• Level 2 or Level 3 and above in Early Years, Childcare & Education and a strong desire to make a difference!
• Previous/Current experience in a Nursery Setting.
• The ability to deliver high-quality practice.
• Able to work 40hrs/week , all year round.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding procedures.
• Excellent communication skills.
