Job summary

Staff Match is seeking an experienced Nursery Nurse for a Derby, Derbyshire nursery. The role requires NVQ level 3 in Childcare and strong EYFS knowledge. Excellent communication skills and DBS clearance are expected.

The successful candidate will provide safe, engaging activities, maintain a clean environment and support parents daily while working a 40-hour week. Desirable: Basic Food Hygiene and Paediatric First Aid certificates.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 Childcare qualification is required.
• Excellent knowledge of EYFS curriculum.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (Desirable).
• Paediatric First Aid (Desirable).

Responsibilities

• Set out age appropriate activities daily to encourage development and learning.
• Maintain a safe, nurturing environment.
• Be flexible and move within the nursery to work with different age ranges.
• Build positive relationships with parents.
• Attend staff meetings and training as required.
• Ensure nursery is clean and tidy after activities.
• Administer medicines as necessary according to nursery rules and procedures.
• Report incidents per Health and Safety procedures.
• Assist in displaying children’s work.
• Work 40 hours per week.

Some of your responsibilities of Nursery Nurse will include:

• Set out age appropriate activities on a daily basis to encourage development and learning.
• Maintaining a safe, nurturing environment
• Be flexible and able to move within the nursery to work with the different ranges of children as required
• Build positive relationships with parents
• To attend all staff meetings and participate in training as required
• To ensure that the nursery is clean and tidy after activities and maintain a reasonable standard of cleanliness.
• To administer medicines as necessary according to nursery rules and procedures.
• To report any incident as per the nursery Health and Safety procedures.
• Assist in putting up displays of children's work.
• Working 40 hours per week
