YMCA Fairthorne Group is seeking a Lead Early Years Practitioner to join the nursery leadership team. You will observe practice, support children with additional needs, coach staff and help embed high standards of care across rooms.

The role focuses on safeguarding, inclusion and continuous improvement within the setting. You will work directly with children and families, guiding practice at multiple rooms and outdoor spaces, ensuring timely referrals and consistent support where needed.

Formación

• Experience in an Early Years setting.
• Ability to support improvements in practice.
• Ability to model good practice and coach colleagues.
• Understanding of child development.
• Experience supporting behaviour and additional needs.
• Experience working with vulnerable children or those needing extra support.
• Good safeguarding and health and safety understanding.
• Paediatric First Aid and Designated Safeguarding Lead training would be valuable.

Responsabilidades

• Observe practice and coach colleagues across the setting.
• Identify where additional support is needed and develop appropriate plans.
• Coordinate referrals and next steps for specialist support.
• Embed high standards of care and practice across rooms.
• Support safeguarding and safe Early Years practice.
• Deputise for the Nursery Manager when required.
• Spend time directly with children in rooms and outdoor spaces.

Level 5 Early Years or Childcare qualification

Level 3 Early Years practitioner
