YMCA Fairthorne Group is seeking a Lead Early Years Practitioner in Portsmouth to join the nursery leadership team. You will help strengthen practice across the setting and support children who may need extra help, while working as part of a wider leadership group.

The role is primarily supernumerary, allowing time to observe, coach colleagues, and coordinate referrals for specialist support, with direct time spent in rooms and outdoor spaces.

Qualifications

• Ideally hold a Level 5 Early Years or Childcare qualification.
• Level 3 practitioners with the right background will be considered.
• Paediatric First Aid and Designated Safeguarding Lead training would be valuable, but we can support the right person to complete these where needed.

Responsabilités

• Lead practice across the nursery and support children who may need extra help.
• Observe children and help identify where additional support is needed.
• Coach practitioners and model strong Early Years practice.
• Support safeguarding and health and safety.
