Job summary

Flow Sports Personnel Ltd is recruiting a Senior Deputy Nursery Manager for a group of caring nurseries. You will support the Manager, oversee EYFS planning and records, and help develop high standards of care across designated rooms, ensuring safeguarding and regulatory compliance.

The role requires NVQ3 equivalent in childcare, prior nursery leadership experience, and current First Aid; management qualification is desirable.

Qualifications

• Must have NVQ level 3 equivalent childcare qualification.
• Experience managing a nursery room or team.
• First Aid qualification current.
• Solid understanding of EYFS.
• Safeguarding procedures knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee EYFS planning and record keeping in line with policies.
• Promote and facilitate partnerships with parents/carers and families.
• Support development of professional relationships with Local Authority and regulators.
• Stay updated on childcare policy trends and best practices.
• Assist Manager with nursery accounts and management information.
• Assist with staff, planning and parent meetings and events.

Senior Deputy Nursery Manager – Qualifications & Experience

• A childcare and education qualification equivalent to NVQ level 3
• Previous experience of managing a room or team within a nursery setting
• A formal management qualification is desirable although not essential
• A current First Aid qualification.
• A sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
• A thorough knowledge of safeguarding procedures

Senior Deputy Nursery Manager – Key Responsibilities

• To support the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage, including overseeing planning and record keeping
• Promote and facilitate partnership with parents/carers and other family members
• Support with the development of and maintaining highly professional working relationships with relevant Local Authority departments, regulatory bodies and other agencies
• Remain abreast of current developments in childcare and education policies and practices
• Assist the Manager with maintaining accurate accounts for the nursery and produce management information in accordance with company procedures
• Assist with the preparation and delivery of regular staff, planning and parent meetings and other events.
