Job summary

Flow Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Senior Deputy Nursery Manager to join a caring multi-site nursery group in the Glossop area. The role focuses on supporting EYFS delivery, supervising staff, and maintaining high standards of safeguarding and regulatory compliance.

You will work closely with the Nursery Manager to oversee planning, records, parental engagement, and liaison with Local Authorities as required. Strong leadership and experience in a nursery setting are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in childcare and education or equivalent.
• Experience of managing a room or a team within a nursery setting.
• A formal management qualification is desirable but not essential.
• Solid understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and practice.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation of the EYFS, including planning and record keeping.
• Promote and facilitate partnerships with parents and carers.
• Maintain professional relationships with Local Authority, regulatory bodies and agencies.
• Stay informed on current childcare and education policy developments.
• Assist Manager with nursery accounts and management information per procedures.
• Help with staff and parent meetings, planning and events.

Senior Deputy Nursery Manager – Qualifications & Experience

• A childcare and education qualification equivalent to NVQ level 3
• Previous experience of managing a room or team within a nursery setting
• A formal management qualification is desirable although not essential
• A sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
• A thorough knowledge of safeguarding procedures

Senior Deputy Nursery Manager – Key Responsibilities

• To support the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage, including overseeing planning and record keeping
• Promote and facilitate partnership with parents/carers and other family members
• Support with the development of and maintaining highly professional working relationships with relevant Local Authority departments, regulatory bodies and other agencies
• Remain abreast of current developments in childcare and education policies and practices
• Assist the Manager with maintaining accurate accounts for the nursery and produce management information in accordance with company procedures
• Assist with the preparation and delivery of regular staff, planning and parent meetings and other events.
