Job summary

St. George's Nursery is seeking an experienced and passionate Nursery Manager to lead our Bobblewood Nursery in Thurnby. The role focuses on running the day-to-day operations, safeguarding, EYFS practice and staff development in a warm, family-friendly setting.

You will inspire and manage a team, maintain high standards, build strong relationships with families, and drive occupancy and growth in a supportive environment with ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and regulatory requirements.
• Experience leading and motivating a nursery team.
• Proven ability to build strong relationships with children, families and colleagues.

Job description

Location: Thurnby, Leicester (Bobblewood Nursery)

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Shifts between 7:30am and 6:00pm

Salary: Up to £46,000 per annum + annual salary reviews and bonus opportunities

St. George's Nursery Group has been providing high-quality childcare across the East Midlands for over 30 years and was recognised as one of the Top 20 Nursery Groups in 2024.

We're looking for an experienced and passionate Nursery Manager to lead our Bobblewood Nursery in Thurnby.

Bobblewood offers a warm, home-from-home environment in a beautiful character building, with a large garden, woodland learning areas and its own log cabin. Our approach focuses on play, creativity and giving children meaningful opportunities to explore and learn.

Your Role

What We're Looking For

• Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above
• At least two years' early years or other suitable experience
• Experience leading and motivating a nursery team
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and regulatory requirements
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A positive, professional and family-focused approach

You'll join a supportive team with structured induction, mentoring, in-house training and ongoing career development. Many of our colleagues have been with St. George's for over 15 years.
