Job summary

Branded Garden Products Ltd in Ipswich is looking for a Nursery Assistant to join our team at Poplar Lane. This 40-hour-per-week role runs Monday to Friday and involves day-to-day nursery operations, receiving supplier stock, and caring for plants to high standards.

You will work across site areas, perform watering, quality checks of mail-order products from bulbs to hardy plants, and may be asked to help with peak-season weekend deliveries and watering rota.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Nursery Assistant to join the team at our site on Poplar Lane, Ipswich.40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

With a focus on quality product, you will be involved in the day to day running of the nursery operation, helping to receive and check supplier stock, and maintain and care for the plants to the high standards our customers expect and deserve.

This varied role will see you working across multiple areas on site where you will assist in the general care, watering and quality checks of all our mail order products, from bulbs and bare roots to summer bedding and hardy nursery stock, to ensure quality is maintained.

This role will require you to perform physically demanding duties at times.

You will also be expected to take part in a peak season weekend delivery and watering rota as required to maintain plant health and quality.

Qualifications

• Motivated with a willingness to learn.
• Willing to work outside and in changing weather conditions.
• Able to take on the physical demands of the nature of work involved.
• Flexibility during peak periods.
• Previous horticultural experience will be an advantage but not essential – a passion for plants and willingness to learn new skills may be enough from the right candidate.
