Job summary

Horizon Teachers is partnering with an inclusive Children's Centre in Islington to recruit a Nursery Assistant for children aged 0-5. The role offers long-term, full-time hours with flexible shifts (8am-4pm, 9am-5pm, or 10am-6pm).

Enhanced DBS check and qualification verification will be required as part of the registration process. The ideal candidate will have Level 3 childcare (or similar) and prior experience in an Early Years setting, with a warm, patient, and engaging approach and strong

Are you passionate about supporting children in their early development?

We are working with a very welcoming and inclusive Children's Centre based in Islington, and they are looking for a caring, enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to work with their children aged 0-5 years old.

This is a long‑term position starting as soon as possible on a full‑time basis. The Nursery offers flexible shifts between the hours of 8am - 4pm, 9am - 5pm or 10am - 6pm.

Due to the nature of this role, it is essential that you have previous experience working within an Early Years setting, and holding a Level 3 childcare qualification (or similar) is very desirable.

Key Responsibilities as a Nursery Assistant:

• Provide a safe, stimulating, and caring environment for children aged 0-5.
• Support children's physical, emotional, and social development through play and age‑appropriate activities.
• Assist with daily routines, including feeding, changing, and sleeping.
• Monitor and record children's development and progress.

What we're looking for:

• Level 3 qualification in Childcare is desirable (but not essential if you have experience in a similar setting)
• Experience working with babies in an early year setting.
• A warm, patient, and engaging approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's wellbeing.
