Job summary

Horizon Teachers is seeking a caring Nursery Assistant for a welcoming Children’s Centre in Islington, supporting children aged 0-5 years. This full-time role offers flexible shifts across 8am–4pm, 9am–5pm or 10am–6pm and requires a DBS check.

Training is provided, and the setting values safeguarding and nurturing approaches. Applicants with Level 3 childcare or relevant nursery experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Childcare qualification is desirable, but not essential with relevant experience.
• Experience with babies in early years settings.
• Warm, patient and engaging approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Job description

Are you passionate about supporting children in their early development? We are working with a very welcoming and inclusive Children's Centre based in Islington, and they are looking for a caring, enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to work with their children aged 0-5 years old.

This is a long-term position startingas soon as possibleon a full-time basis. The Nursery offers flexible shifts between the hours of 8am - 4pm, 9am - 5pm or 10am - 6pm.

Key Responsibilities as a Nursery Assistant:

• Provide a safe, stimulating, and caring environment for children aged 0-5.
• Support children's physical, emotional, and social development through play and age-appropriate activities.
• Assist with daily routines, including feeding, changing, and sleeping.
• Monitor and record children's development and progress.

What we're looking for:

• Level 3 qualification in Childcare is desirable (but not essential if you have experience in a similar setting)
• Experience working with babies in an early year setting.
• A warm, patient, and engaging approach.

• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's wellbeing.
