Job summary

Education Matters Group in North London is seeking a qualified and passionate Early Years Class Teacher to join a well-established nursery. This full-time, long-term role offers engaging, creative learning opportunities within a warm, nurturing and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities include planning and delivering age-appropriate lessons, supporting child development, observing progress, and safeguarding. Strong EYFS knowledge and DBS checks are essential.

Qualifications

  • QTS, EYTS, or Level 5 qualification or above as essential.
  • Experience in an Early Years setting is required.
  • Strong knowledge of EYFS Statutory Framework.
  • Enhanced DBS with Update Service or willingness to obtain.

  • Preparation for the 4+ assessment process and collaboration with staff.

Early Years Class Teacher September Start
  • Location: North London NW3 5UL
  • Salary: Competitive, dependent on qualifications and experience
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am 4:00pm
  • Start Date: September 2026
  • Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term

We are looking for a qualified and passionate Early Years Class Teacher to join a well-established and supportive nursery setting in North London.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to join an experienced team and provide engaging, creative and ambitious learning opportunities within a warm, nurturing and inclusive environment.

About the Role as an Early Years Class Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a stimulating learning environment where children can develop confidently at their own pace.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons and activities.
  • Supporting children's social, emotional and educational development through play.
  • Creating a structured classroom environment that encourages independence and learning.
  • Using indoor and outdoor learning spaces effectively.
  • Monitoring and assessing children's progress and maintaining accurate learning records.

  • Supporting children in preparation for the 4+ assessment process.
  • Working collaboratively with other teaching and extracurricular staff.
  • Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, health and safety and professional conduct.
  • Attending staff training, INSET days and parent meetings where required.

Essential Requirements
  • QTS, Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS), or a relevant full and recognised Level 5 qualification or above.
  • Previous experience working within an Early Years setting.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the EYFS Statutory Framework.
  • Experience with observation, planning and assessment.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and children's welfare.
  • The ability to create engaging learning opportunities through play.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to complete a new Enhanced DBS.
  • A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
