Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Nursery Assistant for a private day nursery in the Altrincham area. The role is permanent, full-time, 40 hours weekly, starting November 2026.

You will support practitioners with daily learning, play and care, helping to deliver engaging activities and consistent care to children from babies to preschool age. The nursery is looking to take on a Nursery Assistant on a permanent, full-time basis, working 40 hours per week from November 2026. The successful Nursery Assistant will support qualified practitioners with children’s daily learning, play and care routines, helping to provide engaging activities and a consistently high standard of care across the setting.

The successful Nursery Assistant will have:

• No formal Early Years or Childcare qualification required
• A minimum of 3 months’ experience working within a UK nursery
• An understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage / EYFS
• A caring, reliable and proactive approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine enthusiasm for supporting children’s development and wellbeing
