We're always looking to support our colleagues to work in a way that works best for them and everyone else, including our clients, the business and the regulators. Please speak to a member of our Recruitment and Onboarding team for more information.

Your Role and What You'll Be Doing

Our Team

We are looking for clinicians of varying backgrounds to join our Specialist Client Services team as a Support & Rehabilitation Coordinator (SRC).

As an SRC, you will join a multi-disciplinary national team of 14, based in our IM offices across the UK. You will be a close point of contact for our clients and their families.

This role can be based from our Northern offices with hybrid working available.

Your Role and What You'll Be Doing

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with Irwin Mitchell (IM) clients who have sustained a serious injury or suffer from a serious illness, to provide education, support, signposting, and advocacy. This may include supporting clients and their families suffering from occupational diseases such as Mesothelioma, Silicosis, Pneumonitis, and Occupational Asthma. Manage their expectations and support the client and their family through treatment and rehabilitation and/or the course of their illness, supporting solicitors in their management of the client.
  • Delivering a smooth transition of new clients from key acute NHS services and liaising with treating medical, therapeutic, and care staff regarding discharge, providing advice and practical support regarding local services. This includes supporting clients with occupational diseases requiring palliative care, long-term care needs, or those receiving immunotherapy.
  • Achieving resolution of client problems by building relationships and working collaboratively with relevant bodies, assisting clients based on their needs by assessing individual requirements. Acting on referrals from case handlers/lawyers and identifying client needs. Working autonomously and in partnership with the client and their families, documenting and communicating actions.
  • Serving as a link between lawyers, public bodies, agencies, charities, NHS, and DWP to ensure effective communication and secure additional statutory or voluntary services where needed. Providing ongoing support, signposting, coordination, or practical support to clients and their families. Ensuring clients maximize their statutory welfare entitlements with support from our dedicated Benefits Team.
  • Preparing and showcasing our SRC service to NHS Trusts, charities, and outside agencies to promote our services and encourage referrals. Delivering training and identifying links with potential new client referrers.
  • Following up with clients to gather feedback and suggestions to help us improve our services.

You will join the Specialist Client Services team and work with experienced solicitors recognized for supporting those affected by serious injury and illness (personal injury and medical negligence).
