Job summary

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Occupational Health professional to join the established OH team. The post holder will provide a specialist OH service focusing on manager referrals and health assessments for employees and managers.

The OH service is nurse-led with a visiting OH Physician each week. Key duties include promoting staff wellbeing, advising on health hazards, and proactive case management to support health and attendance.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse, Part 1 of the NMC Register.
• Post-registration Occupational Health Specialist Practitioner Nursing Qualification.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development.
• OH report writing skills.
• Expert knowledge of occupational health requirements in health care settings.
• Knowledge/experience of OH systems and how to maximise use for service improvements.
• Confident in telephone/video assessments.

Responsibilities

• Assess, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care to high standards.
• Perform manager referrals, return-to-work assessments and manage rehabilitation.
• Assess health questionnaires and communicate fitness-to-work outcomes to managers.
• Provide vaccinations, collect blood samples and health surveillance as required.
• Document health surveillance assessments and notify outcomes to managers.
• Promote good health management and client-focused care.
• Support Line Manager and contribute to staff development and training.
