Job summary

MAXIMUS is seeking a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner or Mental Health Nurse to join as a Nurse Functional Assessor in the UK. You will assess how conditions affect daily life, contribute to WCA reports for DWP, and work with support and training to develop expertise.

The role offers a tailored 6-week training, ongoing mentorship, and flexible working options. We require valid NMC registration, at least 1 year post‑registration experience, and the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Valid NMC registration (or number).
• At least 1 year of broad post-registration adult or mental health experience.
• Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Comfortable using computer software to type and produce detailed reports.

Responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person’s disability or health condition affects daily life.
• Produce Work Capability Assessment (WCA) reports for DWP eligibility decisions.
• Develop clinical knowledge with regular feedback and supervision.
